Cecelia has been in a lab for most of her life and doesn't remember life outside of it. She is attached to an IV that gives her "the happiness." A nurse at the facility helps her escape, and in the process, the nurse is killed by the head of the lab, Charles. Cecelia escapes and comes across a bakery where she meets Ronnie, a breadshop worker. She helps Cecelia and agrees to help her find the nurse's mother and her long-lost friend from the lab, Davy, who escaped before her. They must escape the police (who will take Cecelia back to the lab) and follow the clues that Davy left for Cecelia in order to find him.
